Review of KDLINKS X1 Full HD Dashcam
KDLINKS X1 is a full-HD, wide angle dashcam with a large screen, inbuilt GPS and superior night mode recording. It can automatically record high clarity videos at a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 30 fps in a continuous loop. In the unfortunate event of an accident, the inbuilt G-Sensor automatically detects it and the emergency lock button locks the video file to save it from deletion. While the 165 degrees wide angle lens and the WDR or Wide Dynamic Range technology ensures that nothing goes uncaptured by this intelligent car dashboard camera, the 2.7 inches wide, bright LCD screen allows you to play the recorded clips right inside your vehicle without having to transfer them to any external device.
Since the GPS module is built into the camera, it embeds the location information and related data into the video clips. Using the KDLINKS Player software that comes free with the dash cam in a CD, you can also use Google Map to track the location, speed and route of your vehicle. And if you don’t want to use the GPS feature, you can easily turn it off.
KDLINKS X1 comes with an 8 GB micro SD card and is ready to use as soon as you unbox it. The innovative suction cup mount helps you do away with the clutter of tangled cables on your car’s dashboard. The camera itself features an ultra slim design and works without inviting any plundering eyes towards it. It boots up almost instantly and starts recording as soon as you turn on the ignition of your vehicle. Another striking feature is that you can turn around this camera at 360 degrees in any direction. This is extremely helpful in certain situations like when you want to record an officer or somebody standing by your car window, or some other vehicle driving by your side.
The camera is known for its smooth, clear and detailed recording. You can easily read vehicle plates at a distance of 10 to 20 meters. The quality of the videos recorded during the day is definitely better than those recorded during night time but having said that, the night mode feature allows you to take pretty decent videos even in poor light conditions.
The high quality Li-polymer battery can withstand extreme temperatures ranging from minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit to plus 170 degrees Fahrenheit. It would be good if the battery could last little longer than mere 60 seconds but given the perfect USB power port this dashboard camera comes with, that is hardly any drawback worth getting a mention.
The company is known for its outstanding customer service. Their support team is super responsive and they respond to queries within 24 hours without any exception. There have also been cases wherein they replaced charger cables and other accessories on request from customers.
The car camera comes with one year warranty to take care of any unexpected issues. Definitely a feature rich dash cam you’d not like to miss, especially when special offers are going on!

Beautiful quality videos and lots of options.
After days or more of research I found this camera to have the highest reviews I have seen. I love it so much I bought a 2nd one for the back window. It truly is awesome. The video quality is incredible even at night like it is during the day. All I did was put some black fabric tape around the chrome piece around the lens. I HIGHLY recommend this product. The picture quality is great also btw. The software has awesome features if you have the GPS and MPH option enabled. I would give this 10 stars if it let me 🙂 Great product!!
Edit: I had issues with a bad charger after a few days on 1 of the 2 cameras I bought and also an Auto Looping problem on both 2. The camera freeze up instead of over writing unprotected files. I am using the 32GB version of the 8GB cards supplied. Gonna try them to see if the camera over writes those files without a problem. The customer service is very fast at responding and they are sending me 2 new charger cables and he said the company is working on new firmware with more features. Has anyone else had issues with the auto looping?
2nd edit: They emailed me a new firmware and everything works perfect. Their customer service is beyond perfect and responsive. Great company. I highly recommend this product to anyone.

This is the one to get!
I did a lot of research on dash cams before I made this purchase. I’m glad I went with the KDLinks X1. Easy to install and use, and they have some cool software that you can install on your computer that shows average speed, actual speed, and a map that shows the route. It also records sound (you can shut this off) so you can record your singing as you drive. Comes with an 8 GB memory card, but I’m getting a larger card (max 32 GB) so I don’t have to unload it so often. Pretty good clarity even at night.
I would definitely recommend this cam if you are serious about dash cams for your car!
Funny thing happened yesterday on the way home from work. This guy decided to cross the street against the light and I had to hit the brakes hard to not hit him. He stood there and started yelling at me and giving me the finger. I pointed at my camera and he turned around and walked back to the sidewalk and away from me. The video was awesome and because of the wide view of the camera it also showed that the green light was on when he was crossing. Glad I had the camera!
To hide the camera better I moved it to the passenger side. The lens is offset so it’s not a big deal and the mount allows you to turn the camera (up/down, left/right) so you can still get a very wide view out the front window. I also used painters tape and a marker to conceal it even more. I covered the light on the front (not needed) and the KDLinks logo (sorry!) with the tape then colored it in to make the front all black. Very hard to see from the front since the mirror is behind it and it’s black. You can see in the picture what I did.
I also bought a cigarette lighter extender plug. I didn’t want to use the plug in the ash tray since it has to always be open and I can’t use the “dish” in front of the ashtray when it’s open. The problem is the other 12v plug is always on. So I got an extender/splitter with on/off buttons. I route the camera cord to this and now when I park I just have to reach over and hit the power button. One time I forgot to do this and I got a lot of tape when I was not there. I’m thinking about leaving this on in crowded parking lots in case I get hit or someone tries to do something.
Still loving the camera!
