Review of Rexing V1 HD Dashcam
Rexing V1 is a discreetly designed wedge shaped full HD car dashboard camera that uses H.264 compression technology to record high resolution, 1920×1080 pixel videos. It’s loaded with super high quality 170 degrees wide angle glass lens, 2.4 inches TFT LCD screen, WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) technology, multi-language support and several other features to give you complete peace of mind while driving your vehicle.
You can fix the camera on the windshield of your vehicle using a 3M adhesive mount that comes with it. However, you need to buy a micro SD memory card to save the recordings to. It supports a SD/TF card of up to 32 GB. The dash cam records videos in a loop of 3 minutes. A typical 1080 pixel video clip of 3 minutes takes about 300 MB of space on your memory card. Thus, a 32 GB card can record for over 320 minutes or 5 hours. Once the free space on your memory card gets exhausted, the cam will start recording afresh, overwriting the existing files, beginning with the oldest one. So, just one memory card is sufficient since it supports loop recording function.
Rexing V1 has an inbuilt G-Sensor that can auto detect an accident and lock the video clip to memory card all by itself. You can also manually lock a file by clicking on the OK button. This will send the file to the ‘protected’ folder so that it doesn’t get deleted or written over when your camera starts relooping when there is no more free memory left in the card.
Operating temperature of this dashcam ranges from 10 degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. This is based on the temperature test conducted by the manufacturers but they do not guarantee this. So, it is advisable to remove the camera when you are parking your vehicle in order to avoid any issues.
Don’t expect the internal battery of this car cam to last longer. At most it may give a backup of 5 minutes. That’s because it’s only meant for saving files in case of emergency. So, whenever you are using this cam, make sure it is connected to an external power source.
Rexing V1 features a reasonably stealth design, both in terms of size and color. It easily camouflages itself behind the rearview mirror on your windshield. The camera mount too is pretty thin and allows for a flat mount against the windshield.
The cam supports audio recording and also gives you the option to turn it off. It records loud and clear audio without any distortion. The quality of video recording too is great. It takes everything in focus and there are no soft or fuzzy areas. Night time recording does not match the quality of day time but that too is above average.
Rexing V1 dash cam also allows you to take still photos at the push of a button. It saves image files in JPG format and video files in MOV format. The recordings can be marked with date and time. The cam menu is easy to navigate. The camera supports USB function and comes with a USB cable.
Ideally, any physical or liquid damage to the camera should not cause it to malfunction. But in case it does, you should contact the manufacturers; they should repair it for you. They have you covered under a limited warranty for 1 year.

Great option for small and discreet install flat against the windshield… great video and audio
Highly recommended! It’s black and can be mounted flat against the windshield for a discreet install.
It’s very good compared to other NT96650 based dashcams.
It’s better than generic G1W ones and on par with the better models.
Daytime videos are great with all areas in focus, no soft/fuzzy areas and night quality is good enough.
Audio is excellent though, clear, loud and no distortion.
Most of all, it’s design is to go for as it can be mounted flat against the windshield up high and being all black, it’s much more discrete than those hanging from suction mounts.
This is slanted/angled and comes with a very thin mount that allows it to be mounted flat against the windshield.
Physically, it’s 2.5″ wide and 3.5″ deep. Thickness is around 1.5″.
The camera comes with the following:
Double sided 3M adhesive tape for the mount
Car mini USB Charger
mini USB to USB cable
Right side has mini USB, GPS and optional rear-cam ports (my unit didn’t come with GPS nor with rear cam so can’t comment on those).
Left side has Menu, Reset and Power buttons along with microSD card slot.
Both left and right sides have a knob to adjust the camera angle.
Top side has hole for the mounting bracket and vent holes. Vent holes are all around that should help with heat issues.
The back has Mode, Record start/stop, Microphone, Event/OK button along with something that I haven’t seen before, a button to turn the display off/on. That’s in addition to the backlight setting. Nice!
It is great as it can be mounted up high under the windshield Sun shade and since there is no suction cup mount and the provided mount is very thin, it’s more discreet.
Compared to long hanging suction mounts of most other dashcams, this V1 is up against the windshield and much more discreet and it’s all black so that helps on being more discreet as well.

Great camera, great customer service. Very happy with my purchase.
Picked this dash cam out of many options available on Amazon. Liked this model because of the more “stealth” wedge style. So far I’ve reviewed plenty of driving video and am very happy with the results. Crystal clear video, crystal clear audio, easy features, nice design.
I was very happy with the usefulness of the exposure feature as I do have a tinted windshield, 55% tint to be exact. I was able to adjust the exposure to let more light into the lense making my feed look great, (as it was a little dark at first). I also came across a problem where the audio was picking up a buzzing “zap” sound once every second, (on the dot). I thought this was a possible hardware issue in the camera, but after troubleshooting thus issue I found out this was not the cameras fault or its hardware (internal or external). This sound was actually coming from a cheap aftermarket cigarette lighter splitter that I had the cameras power hooked up to. I now have my cameras power cord plugged into one cigarette lighter, and my radar detectors power cord plugged into a separate cigarette lighter (as they were both plugged into the splitter previously). I now have zero issues an I am back to clear audio. Very happy customer.
NOTE: I did contact RexingUSA via Amazon about the audio issue I was having. I received a response from RexingUSA In less than 24 hours.
They were very nice and apologetic, and offered to send me a new power cord as that is usually the issue. After troubleshooting on my own and finding that my cheap cigarette lighter splitter was the issue, I then responded and let them know my situation and that everything was crystal clear now. I was very impressed with RexingUSA’s customer service. Not only were they understanding and professional, but they stand behind their product. Awesome experience all around. Won’t ever hesitate to purchase Rexing products in the future.
