SONY MEX-XB100BT REVIEW
If you have ever had the chance to use or own the SONY MEX-N500BT or the SONY MEX-N5100BT you’ll be mad that you didn’t wait to purchase the MEX-Xb100BT. You’ll also love this Sony mex-xb100bt review. This unit is one of the highest end single din radios on the market today and it will be the most purchased unit as soon as car audio shops start to receive them in from Sony. This car stereo has all of the same premium options as the earlier models and then some, but the huge difference between the MEX-Xb100BT and its predecessors is the built in 100 watt rms 4 channel amplifier!
What makes the MEX-XB100bt different from other radios?
This official Sony mex-xb100bt review was a review that simply had to be done! This style of radio is the type of radio all car audio moguls have been waiting for, its the type of radio that makes sense. This unit sets itself apart by not only giving you a majority of all the newest options you can find on all of the high end car stereos but it also has a built in 4 channel amplifier. This amplifier provides 40 watts RMS per channel at 4 OHMs and can be wired to 2 ohm speakers without any problems providing around 60 watts RMS per speaker channel.
Whats so great about having a high efficiency amplifier inside of your radio?
Traditional car amplifiers are easily the most used amplifiers in the car audio industry for obvious reasons, but they do come with their own share of downsides. They generally require additional wiring and a timely installation not to mention a lot of the time they take up space in your trunk that could otherwise be used for other more appropriate things. These are all things you do not have to worry about with a stereo like this particular one. No extra amplifier wiring needed, you wont need to run wires around the vehicle and you save trunk space.
What features does Sony MEX-XB100BT have?
One of the reasons I had to create this sony mex-xb100bt review is due to the lack of quality professional information on this radio. Aside from the built in 4 channel amplifier this stereo has almost all of the high-end features on the market today. The equalizer is among the many that stood out to me. There is not only a 10 band equalizer but an in depth subwoofer crossover menu to match the very respectable 5 volt pre-outs that provide the signal to them, is that not awesome? This unit provides NFC capabilities aswell as bluetooth with 24 bit DAC encoding for the best possible sound quality possible. I’ve taken the time to build a list of relevant features for this Sony mex-xb100bt review below:

Best head unit I have ever bought 🙂
By Julian Harwood
I waited 4 months for this to come over to the UK and I have finally installed it (the proper way straight to the battery) I don’t use song pal or bluetooth and if I want to speak to someone I still pull over and answer my phone, so cant really comment on all the ancillaries and no I am not 50 years old I’m only 25 but I hate it when I call my friends and they use it so I just do it the old fashioned way. I have lestened to music through bluetooth which was very easy to set up but the quality isnt as good, so I stick to USB. Anyway this system is AWESOME I had already upgraded all my speakers 2 x Kenwood Components + 2 x Vibe Coaxials (all 6.5″) and had gone through 3 head units with these speakers and as soon as I plugged this in and turned it up it was as if someone had replaced my whole sound system and sneaked a sub somewhere! It really was that good all my friends keep asking me when I installed a sub! If your thinking of getting one and have aftermarket speakers just do it. I can play this on full volume with the Mega Bass button on and it only distorts a very tiny bit, it can play at vol 45/50 all day long and the sound quality is amazing, you can even set the unit to favour the driver/passenger/front or rear of the car which actually makes the audio sound better.

Great Radio and does work with iPhone 6
By joseph tesoro
When I first purchased this radio I was unsure if it would work with the iPhone 6. I made a couple of calls to Sony and they said they never tested the radio with the 6.
After installing and pairing my phone(which went smoothly) I installed the songPal app. The App is a complete waste of time in my opinion well almost you can adjust the EQ and other sound options from the app. But every time you turn the radio on it asks to Open App and you have to hit a button just to clear it very annoying. What I noticed when I tried to make my first call I hit the call button and it kept showing Set Pairing. My phone is already paired and streaming music.
I found out that if you just push the enter button (the Volume knob) once, voice activation comes on and you can just say the person you want to call and Siri does the rest. I have the iPhone 6 plus and the streaming works flawless. When I get in the car I just tap the enter button and tell Siri what I want to listen to or it will just pick up where it left off with the music app you have playing ie: Pandora,iTunes etc and it starts to play.
I also purchased the SiriusXM adapter. You get 3 months free and you can choose a music package as low as 11.39 a month. XM raido sounds ok not as good as streaming but close.
After spending an hour or so messing with all the settings I think I finally have things set where I like them. Only thing I didn’t like but knew when buying was it did not play MP3 CD’s but you can use a jump drive for that.
The illumination is very cool found a color that matches my dash lights.
